Standard Broadband

A complete range of Broadband services for business

GreenCity Solutions provide a wide range of broadband solutions for business through our partnerships with UK ISPs.

Fast, reliable broadband has become more and more integral to UK businesses over the last few years as we move towards more and more services being provided in the Cloud or having a Cloud element to them. Even On-Premise solutions will often have a heavy need for good broadband due to internet dependent services such as VoIP (Voice over IP) and RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol).

At GreenCity Solutions we strive to provide the most efficient and reliable broadband and leased line solutions to our customers. We can also provide fully redundant solutions with the ability to failover services across multiple types of connection seamlessly.

ADSL

Max Download: 22Mbps

Max Upload: 1Mbps

ADSL is a low cost, low speed broadband solution using standard copper connections into your premises. ADSL can work over the same line used for standard telephony services.

Widely available and suitable for very small offices or as a backup service for a faster broadband connection. Largely unsuitable for most Cloud Services due to its slower speed when compared with other broadband services.

FTTC/SoGEA

Max Download: 80Mbps

Max Upload: 20Mbps

FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet) is a faster broadband service then ADSL using fibre-optic from the Exchange to your street and then traditional copper connections into your premises. FTTC can work over the same line used for standard telephony services.

SoGEA is the Single Order, broadband only version of FTTC that is now available throughout the UK and will eventually replace FTTC as part of the BT PSTN Switch-Off in 2025. It does not carry any traditional analog voice services, instead intended to be used with a compatible VoIP service where telephony solutions are required.

Available across most of the UK, suitable for business use as a primary connection or as a backup service for a faster connection such as a Leased Line.

G.Fast

Max Download: 330Mbps

Max Upload: 50Mbps

G.Fast is an upgrade to existing FTTC infrastructure, available in certain parts of the UK where the copper connection to the premises is extremely short and the necessary infrastructure has been installed in the area. It can deliver much faster speeds but over a much shorter distance.

Where available, G.Fast is a very capable service suitable for heavy business use and where Cloud and VoIP services are required. It can also make a cost-effective suitable backup service for a Leased Line or similar.

FTTP

Max Download: 1Gbps

Max Upload: 115Mbps

FTTP (Fibre to the Premise) provides similar speeds to G.Fast or better but is not affected by line length or location due to there being no copper connection involved. It is a full fibre connection from the Exchange to your premises.

Whilst not as widely available as copper services like ADSL and FTTC, FTTP is becoming increasingly more accessible to businesses thanks to various Fibre rollouts taking place across the UK from companies like BT Openreach and CityFibre. Suitable for large businesses with heavy data usage and requirements for Cloud and VoIP services.

Frequently Asked Questions.

How quickly can a Standard Broadband service be live?

Usually 10 working days minimum though this can sometimes be expedited for an additional fee where required.

BT Broadband Checker shows only ADSL in my area, what can I do?

Please get in touch! The BT Broadband checker understandably only shows BT services and often other services are available from alternative providers such as CityFibre and Glide which will not show on the checker. GreenCity Solutions work with a wide variety of service providers to be able to provide fast broadband across the UK in a variety of locations.
